Grace of God update

I’ve been doing the Grace of God mediation for about a week now. A couple things that I’d like to share with those that have started it or are considering starting it. So, it needs to be done twice a day. (women in menopause, it’s recommended you do it 5 times a day, no joke, but we can talk about that later). Go for it first thing in the AM. Within the first hour of waking. The meditation is taking about 10 minutes, no more. That’s including sitting for a few minutes, meditating afterwards. By doing it first thing in the AM you’ve got one set down. Easy. Second time is up to you. I’m doing it around 8-9 PM. I’m not too tired at that point and can stay with the meditation within zoning out. But on the weekend, I’m going for it around 4-5 PM. In case we go out that night. I have a glass of wine, etc. As far as doing it on any empty stomach. It just make the mediation go a lot easier. Holding your breath both in and out is a lot easier with an empty stomach.
When you are doing the meditation, stay with the affirmation “I am Grace of God”. I mean really stay with it. Vibrate it. Feel it. See it. Ride it. Do whatever it takes for you to take that affirmation into every cell of your body. If you mind wanders, no big deal, come back to it. When you are sitting up for the second part of the meditation and your left hand is raised up, really concentrate on the energy of each finger as the instructions specify. It’s amazing how much energy come from those fingers. Each finger relates to specifically to our emotions, communication, positive ego, wisdom and physical health. Sitting up and focusing on these elements is my favorite part of the meditation.
E-mail me for the full meditation and I’ll e-mail to you in a pdf. ssagherian@comcast.net
We’ll be starting as a group on May 5th. This mediation will occasionally be done in class but there is so much more to explore and so many meditations and kriya for me to teach that this specific meditation,
I’ll answer any question but you guys are doing it on your own. Sharing your experiences via a group e-mail list and or this blog.
Grace of God Meditation

It is said that when a women practices this meditation for one year her aura will become tipped with gold or silver and great strength and healing powers will flow through her. Sounds good to me.
We are using the positive affirmation I AM GRACE OF GOD. Words will increase in power through repetition and with this mantra, the impact is enormous. I AM GRACE OF GOD, I AM GRACE OF GOD..repeated over. This meditation was given to us by Yogi Bhajan. He told us that it is the most powerful affirmation a women can do.
It is designed to evoke and manifest inner grace, strength, and radiance. The amazing thing is, it is so simple and easy yet powerful. Please e-mail me if you like me to share the full meditation with you and all the directions. Rather than type it all our here (and make God only know how many typos) I can e-mail you a copy of it. Yo do not have to be in one of my classes to do this wonderful meditation. Anyone can do it and if you have any question at all send them to me. ssagherian@comcast.net
The meditation takes about 8 minutes to do and it must be done twice a day. Any time of day but preferable on an empty stomach. As a group I’d like to do this meditation for 40 days and we can share our experiences right here.
Let’s “officially” start on the New Moon May 5th. But feel free to start before that. I’ve already started. I’m going for my aura to be tipped with gold or silver. I can’t resist, it sounds so beautiful! So it’s going to take more than 40 days. But 40 days is a start and often when you do these meditations, if it’s really resonating with you, you’ll go beyond the 40 days. And I’m telling you, this meditation is not difficult. It just takes discipline and commitment. Oh, men can practice this too. The mantra changes slightly to “I am in the grace of God.”
Honestly, it’s worth 15 minutes of our day.
Low Energy

There have been a few times when people will tell me that after class they will go home and nap. They want to know why are they tired? Was it the yoga they did? It’s not so much the yoga it’s self. It’s the awareness that your body begins to experience when practicing yoga. And if you body needs to rest, if you’ve been on tilt speed for weeks, month and yes even years, the yogis exercises have help facilitate or force you body to rest.
So here I am today. Low energy, pretty tired. I exercise this AM. Had an interesting political chat with a friend. I thought the conversation would energize me and it did but mentally, not physically. Showered and here I still sit in my robe at, Oh My God! 1:20 PM. What a waste I thought to myself. Get up! Accomplish something more today. What have you got to be tired about…I thought to myself. Too much thinking!! I have to do what I’ve told some of my students. If your body needs to rest, than that what you need to do. That is what I need to do and I am going to do it now. So if you are feeling the same. Please listen to your body. A few moments of rest in not going to throw the day in a tail spin.
See you in class.
Inner Peace

in Compassion
This past weekend and into the week his Holiness the Dali Lama was in Seattle. He said how critical it is for us to achieve Inner Peace. He told us that without inner peace there is no way we can project peace and nonviolent within our community. He talked about how negative thoughts can be destructive. He asked us to please find compassion for your ”so called enemy”. The co-worker or annoying neighbor. Your aggression will eventually destroy your chance of inner peace and effect you health.
Hello world!

A year ago I didn’t even really know what blogging was. Seemed pretty a bit self centered. But I think this could be a nice tool for us to share thoughts and ideas. It could be fun.
Let’s see how it goes.
Lots of love and light,
Sosie
