How fast is time really going?

Remember when you were a kid (anytime before the 90′s) when time would seem to go on forever? Slowly the hours and days would pass. Almost in a painful way. Long summer days just hanging out forever with you best friend, under a shady tree, talking a laughing and doing it all over again the next day. Maybe a pick up a game of baseball, kick ball? The other day my 16 year old son told me he can’t believe that the school year is almost over. (Trust me, he’s happy about it) ”Mom, it went by so fast! We need to start thinking about colleges, SAT’s, essays……” He wasn’t quite panicked but was trying to wrap his hed around the fact that the school year is gone. What a bummer, that these kids are not able to slow things down. I thought to myself, it’s not just the adults effected by the pace in which time is speeding by. It’s everyone one of us.
We all need the tools to figure out how to put the brakes on before we crash. And believe me, there is plenty of crashes going on. Let’s be more conscious. Breath, meditate, yoga. Something. 5 or 10 minutes a day to start. Put some “tools” in that tool box, so when you do crash, you can fix it up.

Kundalini yoga has opened up my life to infinite possiblities, even though I am not yet a regular practitioner. Meditation in class has made time slow down to a managable pace. Somehow, what needs to be done gets done, and I don’t feel overwhelmed. Thank you Sosieji, for being a wonderful and inspirational teacher.
